SETTING REQUIREMENTS TO HAVE LESS PEOPLE EVEN ATTEMPT MAKING MAPS .

MAX THE PROGRAMMING PIKA SAID :

    - Maps are required to have baked Lightmaps and Light Probes

    - Maps cannot have primitive shapes (Cubes, Spheres, Quads, Planes, Capsules, Cylinders, etc.) (Occasional primitive shapes are ok, but cannot be used to construct buildings, bridges, etc.).

    - Maps must contain at least 5 distinct 3D models

    - Have a total walkable area (excluding water planes) equal to or bigger than the smallest official map, but smaller or equal to the biggest official map.

BAKING LIGHTMAPS IS LIKE TO MAKE LIGHT STAND STILL AND RECORED HOW IT SHINES OVER THE OBJECTS BUT FOR SMALL MAPS IT DOES NOT REALLY MATTER AND LIGHT PROBES SEE IF LIGHT SOMEHOW EFFECTED BY OTHER STUFF IN THE SCENE - ALL THIS NECESSARY FOR ADVANCED MAPS BUT WARMERISE MAPS ARE VERY BASIC

PRIMITIVE SHAPES FOR PRIMITIVE GAME IS A MUST BUT SOME MAP BUILDERS JUST USE PRIMITIVE SHAPES TO CREATE A PILE OF STUFF THEY CALL ARCHITECTURE

FREE MODELS ARE AVAILABLE BUT HARD TO TELL IF THEY TRULY FREE OR SOMEONE BOUGHT THEM SOMEWHERE AND SIMPLY POSTING THEM ONLINE FOR DOWNLOAD

WALKABLE AREA CAN BE GREAT AS LONG AS YOU CAN SEE THE OTHER SOLDIER IN THE SCOPE AND HE IS SOMEWHERE ON THE OTHER PART OF THE MAP BECAUSE LONG RANGE SNIPING IS FUN BUT FOR THOSE WHO USE LARGER MONITORS - AND I WOULD SAY MAP SHOULD BE AS LONG AND WIDE SO IT WOULD TAKE YOU A FULL MINUTE TO RUN FROM ONE END TO THE OTHER

IF MAX THE PROGRAMMING PIKA IS READING THIS THEN COULD HE TELL ME WHY HE DIDN'T ACCEPT MAP "WARMARISINGBURG" ?

Lightmaps give better results compared to real-time lighting because they include light bounces on top of the direct lighting, while real-time lighting only shows direct illumination.

Light Probes are also needed to illuminate players the same way as the map, giving a more uniform appearance.

The only downside is that baking lights take a long time (depending on the map size), that's why the custom map package includes Lightmap presets with fine-tuned values, for good results but also reduced baking time.
