  • Exeller I am going to officially retire from this game. There comes a moment in a man's life when he needs to take accountability for the choices he makes. Right now video games are taking too much time from my day to day schedule and that results in me having less time to do something more meaningfull with my life. The truth is our dopamine levels have been affected by our screen time and that results in a negative experience because our brain starts to believe we are doing something productive when we level up in video games. But that is just a lie. The virtual achievements are nothing but an illusion. We like to spend our time playing video games because we want to escape reality and not deal with real life problems. Every single time you play a video game you feel nicer right now, but the moment you stop, the moment you log off the game, you realise your life has gotten much worse. That's what I've felt like in the past months. What is the point of leveling up in games if someone will always be better than you. What is the whole purpose of grinding in Warmerise if you have to always play matches in order to maintain a respectable position in the ladder. It's not like my life will improve in any way, but in fact it gets worse. The reality is life in an of itself is a journey that brings real challenges that transform you into a better person, and that's what I want to view things from now on. I am not trying to say playing video games is just a waste of time and energy. Don't get me wrong, games can be really entertaining, but the issue comes when you prioritise the game instead of real life. Playing too much can be detrimental to you, both mentally and physically. It's just not worth it if you ask me. My point is you should better yourself as a person and strive to become a beast in all other areas. I mean just ask yourself: Would you rather earn people's respect in some virtual game or in real life, where things actually matter. Warmerise was a good game. I've had really good times playing it and I don't regret enjoying the game. What I do regret is the time I've wasted playing video games in general. At the end of the day the game will stay the same. With Max gone the game will slowly die and the playerbase with it. To me Warmerise was more fun when I was learning it, but now that I know how to play, how to win, it just ends up being a boring slug or an irritating fiesta and a waste of hours. I am positive about my decision because I can finally start a new chapter of my life. I honestly don't know if I will come back any time soon. Perhaps I will come once in a while to check how's everyone doing or if the game has improved but I guess it won't be the case. Thanks for reading this and I hope that the person who's reading this will start to view things from a better perspective. I am grateful for all the good memories I've had playing Warmerise but know it's time to close and say goodbye for good. Exeller signing out - 13.04.2024
