  • i3slkiller By the way in time of recent Discord controversy and internal forum killed a long ago, came to my mind idea of creating forum for ex warmerise players (created by me or someone else) on which we would discuss on topics not necessarily related to this game (although there will be some), not to mention that (in theory) there is easier to find something on the forum even after years and without account, and personally I prefer to write on the forum than on walled garden platform (which Discord is). Regarding technical details: I consider choosing phpBB forum engine for this purpose, although I don't mind on MyBB expect that I don't like the necessity of modifying styles in admin control panel than in text editor. SMF seems to be too ancient; Discourse, Flarum looks more like corpo-site than small forum; PunBB seems to be abandoned; IPB is paid; ... As a precaution, I'm going to manually check and approve first few post of new users (I won't say how much :P ) to reduce risk of adding disallowed content by them (for example if one of his first posts will be ad, dox or pr0n, I reject it and perma ban him). In general I don't expect heavy traffic on it, probably it will turn out that I will write to self, who knows ;) About recommendations: If someone will want to register on my forum, I recommend to use ***** created for forum purposes only, 10minutemail is also acceptable (although in this case user can't reset password if forgotten). Additionally on my forum (and any other ofc.) I recommend to not write very private things on *** because these are saved in clear text in database (the same may be true for other engines). What do you think about that?
