INITIAL THOUGHTS PROCESS TO DEVELOP MAP IDEA

    FIRST DECIDE WHAT KIND OF MAP YOU WANT TO CREATE. ALMOST ANY MAP TYPE CAN WORK FOR WARMERISE. AND THERE ARE PROBABLY A DOZEN OR MAYBE HUNDRED OF MAP TYPES. PICK ONE OF THESE TO BEGIN :

    1. CITY BLOCKS

    2. ISLAND OR NATURE 

    3. FANTASY CASTLE

    4. FANTASY LANDSCAPE

    5. FACILITY OF SOME KIND

    6. FLOATING CYBER PLATFORM

    7. VILLAGE OR RURAL AREA

     

    NEXT IS CREATE A LIST OF MAIN ITEMS YOU NEED AND WANT ON YOUR MAP. CREATE A LIST OF AT LEAST 10 MAIN ITEMS. HERE IS AN EXAMPLE OF THE LIST OF TEN FOR NEW ISLAND MAP:

    1. BASE OFFICE

    2. TALL TOWER

    3. SHORT TOWER

    4. JET PLATFORM WITH AN OFFICE

    5. UNDERGROUND TUNNEL NETWORK

    6. MILITARY GARAGE

    7. FLOATING PLATFORM SHIP ( JET CAN GET YOU THERE AND YOU CAN SNIPE FROM ABOVE WITH NOBODY REACHING YOU )

    8. MILITARY HOUSING 

    9. PALM TREES OR OTHER LARGE VEGETATION

    10. STRANGE ROCK FORMATIONS

     

    THE THIRD STEP IS TO CREATE A SIMPLE SKETCH OVER AND OVER AGAIN SKETCHING HOW TO PLACE THESE ITEMS ON THE ISLAND OR MAP TYPE YOU ARE CREATING.

     

    AND FOURTH STEP IS LEARNING BLENDER 3D SOFTWARE THAT IS FREE. I BELIEVE THAT THE BEST DEAL FOR PC THAT CAN DO 3D WOULD BE 'REFURBISHED (USED/RENEWED) LENOVO THINKCENTRE' FOR ABOUT 200 - 250 USD WITH AT LEAST 16GB RAM BUT I THINK IT SUPPORTS UP TO 64GB. I THINK TO BUY ONE JUST TO USE AS KITCHEN COMPUTER. BLENDER IS USING RAM AND NOT MUCH OF GPU. LEARN HOW TO COLOR INDIVIDUAL FACES IN BLENDER. WATCH BLENDER TUTORIALS ON YOUTUBE. BLENDER GOT FREE ADDONS TO GENERATE TERRAIN AND TREES AND OTHER STUFF BUT WATCH THE SIZE OF YOUR FBX EXPORT OF SUCH MAP BECAUSE ONCE YOU ADD UNITY TEXTURES AND GAME OBJECTS THE MAP STILL HAVE TO FIT INTO THE SIZE LIMIT MAX SET. 

     

    FIFTH STEP IS TO COLLECT TRUE FREE TEXTURES IN ONE FOLDER FOR YOUR MAP AND USING DIRECTIONS MAX CREATED ABOUT HOW TO USE UNITY GAME ENGINE TO PUT THE MAP TOGETHER. REMEMBER THAT 'FACE ORIENTATION' ON BLENDER MODELS HAS TO BE CORRECT AND NO INTERSECTING FACES OR ORTHER ERRORS UNITY MAY TELL YOU WHEN YOU IMPORT FBX OF YOUR MAP. AND CREATE MATERIALS AND USE TRUE FREE TEXTURES YOU FOUND TO APPLY THEM ONTO THE MAP OBJECTS OR FACES OF OBJECTS. YOU CAN CREATE 10 DIFFERENT CUBES AND APPLY DIFFERENT UNITY MATERIAL TYPE WITH TEXTURE OR WITH TRANPARENCY ONTO THE CUBES TO SEE HOW THEY LOOK ON THE MAP WHEN TESTING TO FIND WHAT MATERIAL TYPE LETS YOU CREATE GLASS OR SHINY STUFF THAT WARMERISE SUPPORTS. DON'T FORGET TO ADD MESH COLLIDER TO YOUR MAP AND MAP OBJECTS. 

     

    USE NAME GENERATOR OF SOME KIND TO GENERATE SOME COOL NAME FOR YOUR MAP OR USE YOUR OWN MIND. 

     

    AND THEN UPLOAD YOUR MAP FOR TESTING AND HOPEFULLY ALL WORKS AND HATERS WILL NOT JUDGE BUT APPROVE YOUR MAP ONCE YOU CLICK 'PUBLISH'.
